Dental pain that's escalating, swelling, or fever should be seen the same day. These can signal an infection that needs immediate antibiotics or drainage before it spreads.
If the tooth is intact, gently place it back in the socket if you can. If not, store it in cold milk and get to us within 60 minutes. Quick action significantly improves the chance of saving the tooth.
Acetaminophen or ibuprofen by mouth for pain — never placed directly on the gum or tooth. A cold compress on the outside of your face can reduce swelling. Avoid putting aspirin on tissue, which can burn it.
