Seniors 65 and older were the first group eligible for CDCP. We accept the program, direct-bill it, and help with applications if you'd rather not navigate the process alone. Wheelchair accessible, unlimited parking, and care for patients we regularly see from area long-term care homes.

Many of our senior patients haven't seen a dentist in years. Sometimes that's about cost, sometimes mobility, sometimes about being embarrassed at the state of your teeth, and often a combination. None of that is a problem for us. CDCP coverage solves the cost part for most patients; our office solves the rest.

What CDCP covers for seniors

Routine care with little or no out-of-pocket cost

For most seniors who qualify, CDCP covers the dental work that matters most for daily quality of life: regular cleanings, exams and x-rays, fillings, extractions, dentures (complete and partial, with replacement covered every 5 years for most tiers), root canals where needed, and emergency exams. The specific list and any co-pay percentage depends on your CDCP enrollment tier. The Government of Canada CDCP page has the current rules.

Things that aren't typically covered include cosmetic work, most dental implants, and most sedation. If you have an implant case in mind — including options like All-on-4 for patients with multiple missing or failing teeth — we can talk through financing or split your treatment into the CDCP-covered portions plus a separate plan for the rest. Generally no — if you have private dental insurance available to you through an employer, pension, or spouse, you typically aren't eligible for CDCP. Confirm specifics on the Government of Canada page.
Yes — complete and partial dentures are typically covered, with replacement covered every 5 years for most tiers. We do dentures in-house through our digital lab, which makes the fitting process faster and lets us do small adjustments same-day.
Ill-fitting dentures are one of the most common reasons seniors come to us. We can adjust, reline, or replace dentures under CDCP, depending on the issue and your tier. For patients tired of dentures entirely, we can discuss implant-supported alternatives like All-on-4 — though those aren't typically CDCP-covered.
We see patients from long-term care homes regularly at our practice — we're fully set up to accommodate transfer and wheelchair-assisted visits. We don't typically make house calls; for residents who can't travel, we coordinate with the home's clinical staff.
